Accounts Payable, Customer Service Clerk, Full-Time Position

 

The Township is currently seeking a self-motivated, highly organized individual for the full-time position of Accounts Payable, Customer Service Clerk. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services/Deputy Treasurer, this position is responsible for the Accounts Payable function for the Township, processing and issuing payments. This position is also the primary front line customer service position for the Township, providing support in person and via telephone and e-mail. Other duties include administrative support services including acting as the back-up for the Payroll function.

The position is based on a 35-hour work week. The annual salary range for this position is $55,996 to $65,507. Comprehensive benefits and pension packages are also included.  

The Township of Norwich is located within the County of Oxford in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, with beautiful countryside, villages, and productive farmland. 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:  

•    Completion of post-secondary education in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
•    Two years of experience in accounting, cash handling, customer service and financial software, preferably in a municipal environment, is an asset.
•    Working knowledge of current acceptable accounting practices and principles.
•    Demonstrated ability to use reliable judgment and maintain confidentiality.
•    Superior attention to detail and a high degree of data entry accuracy.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, and web-based applications is required.
•    A valid criminal background check is required.
•    A valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence and access to reliable transportation.
