Municipal Election - October 26, 2026
Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Township of Norwich that nominations may be filed for the following offices:
Nominations for the Council of the Township of Norwich
Mayor: One (1) candidate to be elected at large to serve as the head of the Council of the Township of Norwich and to sit as a member on the Council of the County of Oxford.
Councillor: Four (4) candidates to be elected by Ward as follows:
Ward 1 (former South Norwich) – One (1) member;
Ward 2 (former Village of Norwich) – One (1) member;
Ward 3 (former North Norwich) – One (1) member;
Ward 4 (former East Oxford) – One (1) member.
Nominations for the above Municipal Council offices shall be filed with the Clerk of the Township of Norwich at 285767 Airport Rd, Norwich.
Nominations for School Board Trustees
Thames Valley District School Board
London District Catholic School Board
Conseil scolaire catholique Providence
Nominations for these School Board Trustees shall be filed with the Clerk of the City of Woodstock.
Conseil Scolaire Viamonde
Local nominations for this School Board Trustee may be filed with the Clerk of the Township of Norwich, which will be forwarded to the Clerk for the City of Sarnia.

Nominations for the Council of the Township of Norwich may be made by completing and filing in the office of the Clerk, the prescribed Nomination Paper and Endorsement of Nomination, accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200.00 for the Head of Council and $100.00 for all other offices. The filing fee is payable by cash, certified cheque, debit or money order.
A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent during regular business hours between May 1, 2026, and August 20, 2026, and between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on August 21, 2026 (Nomination Day). A Candidate must be nominated prior to raising campaign funds or incurring campaign expenses.
In the event there are an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill all positions available, nominations will be reopened for the vacant positions only, on Wednesday August 26, 2026, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and such additional nominations, if required, shall filed at the office of the Clerk.
Candidate Information and Nomination Packages will be available at the Municipal Office, 285767 Airport Road, Norwich.
