Aquatics Supervisor 

The Aquatics Supervisor is essential for supervision of the daily operations of the Otterville Swimming Pool to ensure a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

Reporting to the Manager of Parks & Facilities, the Supervisor will be responsible for but not limited to preparing and administering the aquatics program, supervising aquatics staff, providing swimming instruction, coaching / assisting swim teams, monitoring and enforcing regulations at the Otterville Pool, and other duties as assigned. A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

The current hourly wage is $24.48, based on a 35-40 hour workweek. OMERS pension is offered for this position. This role is non-unionized. This position will include day and evening hours, as well as some weekends and holidays. Overtime hours may be offered and are optional.

The Township of Norwich is located within the County of Oxford in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, with beautiful countryside, villages, and productive farmland.

 

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Recreation/Leisure or related field preferred. 
  • Certified in NLS/Lifesaving Instructor. 
  • Certified in Lifesaving Swim Instructors. 
  • Current certification in Standard First Aid/CPR. 
  • A valid class "G" Ontario Driver's Licence. 
  • Minimum two years' experience in government or institutional setting is preferred. 
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Superior leadership and organizational skills 
  • Workings knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Integrity and responsibility necessary to handle a cash float.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
